How to Happy Hour is part presentation, part practice—and all about helping young professionals feel more confident navigating work-related social events. Learn why networking outside the office matters, how to show up without feeling awkward, and how to build real connections (without just talking about the weather). Then we’ll head to a local spot to put those new skills to work in a relaxed, real-world setting.

This workshop will be led by Allison Rogers, Assoc. AIA, LEED Green Associate, an architectural designer at Clark Nexsen whose work spans K-12 schools, higher education, libraries, and more. As an active emerging professional with AIA Coastal Virginia, Allison brings firsthand insight into navigating the early career experience—balancing design, community engagement, and the sometimes-awkward world of professional networking. She’s been where you are, and she’s excited to share practical tips (and a few personal stories) to help you feel more confident at your next happy hour.
