Background:

AIAHR would like to partner with communities to create a temporary Pop-up Community Park that will highlight a need of green space in Norfolk. The Pop-up Community Park is intended to bring public awareness and build community through a creative design process.

Vision:

The idea is to bring vibrancy and beautify a space within a neighborhood/corridor in Norfolk to address the need for green space. This conceptwas derived from The American Society of Landscape Architects’ Parking Day and AIAHR’s would like to expand on this, while educatingcommunities on what architects do through a collaborative design process. We will highlightcommunity through creative design and urban infrastructure. The Pop-up Community Park willbe a temporary project that will be debuted on Architecture Day, October 2nd, 2023.
