Rod Scott is a Certified Floodplain Manager and has over 25 years of contracting experience specializing in flood damage recovery and historic structures. He pioneered the use of state and federal historic rehabilitation income tax credit programs in Iowa for disaster recovery of historic buildings. The RES Home Raising Academy offers courses to architects, engineers, contractors, and local government floodplain and emergency management on multiple topics that will result in safer, more efficient execution of home raising projects.  Some have estimated that region of Hampton Roads has over 30,000 elevations and dry flood proofing of non-residential buildings that will need to happen in the coming years.  Yet this industry is only beginning to gain traction in the region.  With FEMA planning to change the flood insurance rates in the future, the time to start raising homes is now!
